What is the most popular dog breed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania?

If someone asks you what do you think is the most popular dog in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, what would your answer be? I would easily say it’s either German Shepard or Golden Retriever, and both answers would be wrong.

I have no idea what a Havanese is, but it is the most popular dog in the state of New Jersey, according to Honest paws. We learned that a “Havanese is the national dog of Cuba”. While many people have probably never heard of the Havenese dog breed, Honest paws said Havenese is in fact the second most popular and Google searched dog breed in the country. Five different states, including New Jersey, have Havenese as their most popular dog.

Pennsylvania has a cooler favorite dog. At least for me it is. According to Honest paws, Pennsylvania residents have declared Boxers to be their favorite dogs, which makes Pennsylvania’s most popular Boxer dog breed. The interesting part is that Honest paws reported that only 2 states nationwide were the ones with Googling the Boxer dog breed the most compared to other dog breeds.

Another interesting fact is that although few states have chosen the Bulldog as their preferred dog breed, it has been stated on Honest paws that Bulldog bread was the “most wanted dog” in the country.

My favorite dog breed, Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff), didn’t stand a chance and was nowhere on the list. It was not the favorite dog breed of any state in the country.

To prepare for a potential incident, always keep your veterinarian’s phone number handy, as well as an after-hours clinic that you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline that you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

However, even with all of these resources, the best cure for food poisoning is to prevent it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 Common Foods to Avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
