Watch a hero save a dog from the Glasgow Canal after falling in Port Dundas
Everyone loves a doggie story that feels good – especially us here at Glasgow live.
So we’re more than happy to be able to write this story about a companion dog that was pulled from safety by a kind and nimble passer-by.
Unfortunately, a small black dog got into a mess this morning at the Port Dundas Canal when he was seen in the water, hidden by the tall grass along the banks.

Lucky for the dog, however, some passers-by were prepared and after a quick rescue mission the dog was pulled out of the water to bring him to safety.
Jason Hutchison is today’s knight in shining armor after successfully bending over and pulling the dog out of the water by the skin of the neck.
A witness said Glasgow live: “We were just walking along the canal and saw a couple screaming through the water.
“One of the guys was already trying to save the dog, but Jason ran to help him and he was the one who managed to save the dog.”
Jason, from Anniesland, helped the little dog – but unfortunately couldn’t see his owners.
The witness added: “We believe the dog may have fallen from one of the canal boats.
“Unfortunately the dog ran away and we couldn’t find out who the owners were, but we would have loved to know.”
