Many of us have welcomed new four-legged family members more than confinement over the past 18 months, as The Kennel Club has seen the number of dog owners increase by almost 8% to almost 250,000 from 2020.

If you are looking for a new furry addition to your home, choosing the right breed is absolutely essential – for example, going for a Little dog if you don’t have much room at home, or a hypoallergenic dog if you suffer from allergies.

But if you have plenty of space and an active lifestyle, you might want to consider a larger dog – which tends to make loyal, loving companions and is often more adaptable and easier to train than their cousins. Smaller.
