Mars Petcare Tackles Pet Homelessness with BETTER CITIES FOR PETS ™ 13th Annual Adoption Weekend

âOur annual March Petcare Adoption Weekend is a great way to rally our communities, brands and associates around our ambition to end pet roaming,â said Ikdeep Singh, Regional President, Mars Petcare North America. âFor the thirteenth year, we will be focusing our efforts in our hometown of Nashville, and this year we are excited to expand to Kansas City, home to one of our manufacturing sites and a team of passionate associates who proudly manufacture GREENIES â¢. “
Mars Petcare also partners with the Titans quarterback and pet parent, Ryan tannehill, to share the importance of pet adoption. Tannehill spent time with a local adoptable dog, Franklin, after last week’s practice, giving fans a taste of the adorable pets available for adoption this weekend. He encourages fans of both teams to visit one of the five participating shelters for the chance to meet their future pet forever.
âGrowing up with rescued pets – including our first family dog, Freckles – pet adoption is a cause close to my heart,â said Tannehill. âI am thrilled to support Mars Petcare’s 13th Annual BETTER CITIES FOR PETS ⢠Adoption Weekend because I believe every pet deserves a loving home. “
Shelters participating in the Adoption Weekend include the Nashville Humane Association, Williamson County Animal Center, and Metro Animal Care and Control in Nashville; and the Humanitarian Society of Greater Kansas City and KC Pet Project at Greater Kansas City, Missouri. Mars Petcare Associates in both Nashville and Kansas City will participate in volunteer events leading up to Adoption Weekend to help participating shelters prepare for the weekend. To adopt a pet, residents of both communities can visit or contact one of the five participating shelters for more details on the adoption process.
In addition to covering adoption costs at these shelters, Mars Petcare and the PEDIGREE Foundation will return adopted animals home with starter kits that include PEDIGREE food.®, CESAR® and IAMS â¢, TEMPTATIONS ⢠cat treats, and coupons and gifts from BANFIELD ⢠Pet Hospital, Camp Bow Wow®, IAMS ⢠NOSEiD, VCA Animal Hospitals, WISDOM PANEL â¢, PEDIGREE Foundation and the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS ⢠program.
