Today is the last chance to apply for a dream job where you can play and cuddle puppies.
Guide Dogs is currently recruiting a Dog Science Assistant who will be paid up to £ 23,173 pro rata to care for the puppies in this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for giving guide dog puppies the best start in life and preparing them to become a successful guide dog.

The position is a four day per week job and will be based at the National Charity Center at Leamington Spa for the duration of the 12 month contract.
Helen Whiteside, Scientific Director of Guide Dogs, said: “In addition to providing other services to improve the lives of visually impaired people, Guide Dogs raises and trains over 1,000 dogs each year.
She added, “The Canine Science Assistant will support the development and execution of our vital dog behavior, health and welfare research.

The main responsibilities of the role are getting to know the puppies at seven weeks old, watching videos of them to help the association better understand their personalities and needs, monitoring them as they grow up with them. their puppy breeders and meet with them as adults to check on their progress.
The canine scientific assistant will also support the team in data collection, data entry and administration of the project.
Experience working with or handling animals as well as a degree in a field related to animal science or behavior is desirable when applying for the position.
If you don’t have a degree, you should have at least two years of experience with animals, as well as excellent organizational, time management, and computer skills.
