Canadian football players rescue mom dog and her puppies left behind in floods | Tendency
In a heartwarming video, Canadian-American football players Brady Oliveira and Shai Ross shared how they rescued a dog and her two puppies from a flood in Peguis First Nation in Manitoba, Canada. The video of the rescue of these dogs was posted on Instagram and it’s quite heartbreaking to watch.
Due to severe flooding, people were evacuated and many had to tragically abandon their pets. Brady Oliveira shared how he received an alert about a female dog and her two puppies being abandoned and left in a house completely submerged in water for over 24 hours.
“Her puppies were trapped inside the house in an emergency flood state,” reads the text insert on the video. The video shows how the men rescued the dog and two of her puppies. They were recommended to turn back because of the deluge says the text later. The men walked for 30 minutes through freezing water to reach the house where the dogs were stuck. They rescued the dog who had been on the deck for over 24 hours and her puppies who were locked in a bathroom inside the house.
“Watch till the end to see this heartwarming dog rescue. I received an alert about a dog and her 2 babies who were abandoned in a community during a state of emergency due to severe flooding. The community has was evacuated and many people were forced to leave their dogs behind. Although we were told by paramedics that conditions were deemed unsafe to save the dogs, we weren’t leaving until we got them! They had been there ever since. more than 24 hours!The mother was left outside in cold weather on a terrace almost completely submerged under water.Her puppies were locked inside the house in the bathroom and were covered in urine and matter What a rescue mission it was! Walking in freezing water for 30 minutes in some places up to mid-thigh, having to carry the dogs all the time with a slight onset of hypothermia… it was one for the books! says the caption of the video.
Since its publication on May 3, the video has been viewed more than 2.7 million times.
