The BMW R 1250 GS is one of the best adventure rides on sale that motorcyclists dream of having one in the garage, and making his dream of doing so come true is actor Kunal Khemu. The Indian movie star recently took delivery of her new BMW R 1250 GS in Mumbai. Prices for the motorcycle start at ₹ 20.45 lakh for the standard version, while the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure is priced at ₹ 22.35 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India). The actor is an avid motorcyclist and has owned a number of performance motorcycles in the past. On Sunday, he also took to social media to share images and videos from the first round of the adventure tourer.

In an Instagram post, Khemu shared, “Well, what am I saying… it was love on the first ride. It was always on my wishlist and finally I have it. So I can’t wait for many rides on this beauty # r1250gs #bmwmotorrad @bmwmotorrad @bmwmotorrad_in “

The BMW R 1250 GS is the flagship ADV for the brand and was launched in India last year. The bike is powerful and technological with a larger 1254cc twin-cylinder engine (as opposed to the 1170cc in the R 1200 GS) with ShiftCam technology or variable valve timing that allows for a more even distribution of torque across the entire rev range. The Boxer engine produces 134 hp at 7,750 rpm and 143 Nm of maximum torque at 6,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The BMW R 1250 GS also receives a multifunctional dashboard with a 6.5-inch color TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, revised LED headlights and LED DRLs which form a new model. The bike receives semi-active electronic suspension with automatic load compensation, while a sports suspension package will also be offered.

The BMW R 1250 GS and the R 1250 GS Adventure are also equipped with Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and Hill Start Control as standard. The list of options is extensive and includes head handles, keyless driving, RDC tire pressure regulator, cruise control, center stand and more. The dynamic pack adds professional driving modes including ABS Pro, HSC Pro, DTC and DBC support, Gear Shift Assistant Pro, daytime running light, LED turn signals and more. BMW Motorrad also offers a number of touring accessories with the R 1250 GS range.

It is not clear whether the new BMW R 1250 GS replaces any of Kunal Khemu’s existing motorcycles. The Malang actor previously owned the Ducati Scrambler and the Harley-Davidson Sportster. ADV is definitely a big update.
